WELCOME TO
ROSE OF SHARON RANCH
A storied Arkansas ranch rooted in tradition, honoring a legacy of passionate families and exceptional horses.
Welcome to Rose of Sharon Ranch, where faith, family, and a deep passion for ranching come together. Our story began in 1984 when Sharon Pallone made a pivotal move, swapping land with the Peck family to be closer to the beauty of the country. The ranch was then named after a beautiful Bible verse, "I am the Rose of Sharon, a lily of the valley", in honor of Sharon. This name symbolizes the love and care that has always been at the heart of our operations.
This transition was the beginning of a dream—expanding our ranching endeavors. Dr. Mike Pallone, inspired by his parents who began showing horses when he was just a child, was captivated by the ranching lifestyle. They started with a small herd of cattle and a few riding horses, which were used for general ranch work as their passion grew.
As Dr. Mike matured, so did the ranch. After attending veterinary school at LSU in Baton Rouge in 1991, he returned to find that his mother, Sharon, had continued to nurture their beloved ranch. Together, they worked tirelessly to grow their operations, transitioning from Nubian goats and Morgan horses into a new venture.
In 2005, they embraced a new chapter by welcoming an Arabian operations offer, boarding over 60 Arabian horses and providing training and breeding services. While the Arabian business flourished for a time, global economic and cultural shifts led them to pivot back to beef cattle, expanding the cow-calf production and adding a preconditioning operation.
Fast forward to 2023, when a new chapter of our story began. Dallas and Colleen met during a spring semester internship at the iconic 6666 Ranch in Texas, where their shared love for ranching brought them together. Later that year, while Colleen was at school and Dallas and Dr. Mike were on a hunting trip in New Mexico, they made a heartfelt decision—they purchased NATURAL BOTTOM, a stallion born and raised at the 6666 Ranch, during the 2023 Return to the Remuda Sale. Though there was a desire to build a breeding program, the timing felt uncertain, and they prayed for guidance and clarity in God’s will.
As we prepared for this exciting new chapter, we started buying lesson horses, and by December 2024, our brand-new covered arena was operational and open for lessons. This arena has become a hub for hosting clinics, community events, and birthday parties, welcoming riders and families alike.
Today, Rose of Sharon Ranch is home to our new horse breeding program, with NATURAL BOTTOM serving as our foundation stallion for raising colts for both ranch work and showing. Dallas and Colleen now manage the breeding program and lesson operations, driven by a shared vision to grow and expand the ranch’s legacy.
From our humble beginnings with goats and Morgan horses to Arabian horses, cattle, equine services, and community events, Rose of Sharon Ranch has always been about more than just ranching—it’s about family, faith, and building something meaningful. Thank you for being part of our journey.
